Why this? Why now?

I am not your typical contender for acting and modeling jobs. In fact, after training for a career in modeling in San Francisco, CA in the mid-90s, I changed my mind and returned to an outdoor recreation lifestyle where I would later become a uniquely talented and well-known whitewater guide on the South Fork of the American River in Northern California. On the river, where my boat is my stage, I become the intense demanding, barking, drill sergeant of the paddling set; while at the same time, I provide comedy relief for my captive audience to cut the tension of the rapids. As I guide them skillfully through treacherous rocky gorges, I keep them laughing all the way to the end. This is acting.

Why do I seek formal acting or modeling work now? Now that I am a middle-aged man and no longer a young romantic lead? Okay, so my looks have changed with time, but I still feel it is the right time for me to get off the river and into Hollywood. This is why…

I have always felt comfortable entertaining people, and know, in my soul, there is a role for me where I can do this. It is inevitable that my age will limit future river trips, but modeling and acting are career choices that offer opportunities for all types, all ages, and all looks. I hope you will consider me for jobs where I would be a good fit even with my limited experience. I am a quick study, really great at memorizing, and have a strong ability to change my persona to fit any situation.
